Just to put anyones' minds at ease, the tube is bad (damaged shadow mask), and the cabinet is already cracked, so there wasn't any waste involved here. I'm pulling the boards to keep as spares for the 40XBR800 in our house.

When I do the demonstration, I haven't decided whether to blast the corner of the tube from the rear, or right in the center of the front. I have the feeling it will be more spectacular from the rear, as the banding would probably keep the tube intact if blasted in the front.

It's been 25 years since last time I did a childish thing like this with a tube, so I'll have to crank up my memory. I'll probably do it Sunday, as there's an unspoken agreement among the neighbors that target shooting is best on Sunday afternoons, and nobody gets alarmed.

And thanks guys, for the compliments on the truck... I'll pass that on to my wife. It's hers . She saw it on eBay in Houston a couple years ago, and bought it sight unseen. We flew down there and drove it home; made a road trip of it.
