You know, I think the markup on these DTV boxes is astronomical.
Mine's an all plastic case. The electronics don't look all that complex, and only two screws help hold it together, along with 4 plastic clips that are molded in. It weighs next to nothing, and is quite small, so shipping them shouldn't cost that much.
I know these things use MPEG 2 technology, and probably some of the price goes towards royalties, but I still think the markup is staggering.
