Pixelation during a low-light scene or fast-moving scene can be very annoying. It happens on digital cable channels as well. I could be wrong, but always considered it to be caused by lack of bandwith and/or over use of compression.
While it may seem like a step backwards, we may as well embrace digital since it ain't going away.
At least there's no snow or herringbone interference.
