Well, if its in good shape I would do the necessary repairs. While these are collectible, they aren't really extraordinary performers and they seem relatively common.

Around here, people frown on the idea of stuffing a modern TV in the place of the original. But, with some effort the original should be easy enough to get going. I'd start by checking all of the tubes and then start replacing all the old electrolytics and resistors. Assuming the CRT and transformers are OK, this should bring it back from the dead at least.
