The little black rectangle below the list of channel numbers is a handle for a plastic strip that pulls down and out. On the strip is currently a long thin piece of plastic with the numbers 2-13 and the two asterisks, but the set originally came with a sheet of all the individual channel numbers. I used to set those up for customers and friends all the time around 1980-84.
