If it's any help at all i had this happen to me a few years ago with my old sony. It turned out to be a short in the HV that was taken out by voltage spikes. I know that you are getting voltage and power circuits seem to operate but theres a nasty shutdown issue. HV checks are your best bet. Ic's seem to go in those years so feel for a hot one or cracks..
