It's because Zenith is losing competition to Japanese makers, like Sony, Panasonic, and Toshiba. You don't want to know how many people own a mid-90s Sony, Panasonic, or Toshiba TV. It's like many. That caused Zenith to go bankrupt in 1995, and it was brought up by GoldStar (now LG Electronics).
