From memory the RGB/NORMAL pin on the Multi connector needs to be tied high to enable the RGB input (pin 33). From memory the RGB input is always analog, the external adapter to connect a CGA PC to these monitors contained a circuit to convert TTL RGBI to analog RGB.
I've uploaded the service manual for the KX20PS1 (the euro version of this monitor which has the same multi input) to my web space. PM me for the link if you (or anyone else) need it (I'm not posting the link as I don't want it ending up in google).
