This talk about being able to fine tun the old sets and DXing reminds me of something that I hate about my daily watcher modern Sony......if the signal fades or a car drives by the picture flops to snow and the sound makes this big Shoooooosh! before is mutes.

On the weaker stations, once the signal is sees this sort of interference it loses the lock and I have to actually flip to another channel and come back to the one I had been watching. Bad design to say the least.
