Okay... My RM-611 remote looks nothing like either of these remotes. I may have the wrong remote after all. I do have a several Sony TV remotes that look similar to the RM-723 so I'll try those.
The VTX-100EC is stereo. It has a built in A2 stereo decoder. I suspect it's a German model and it is marked Zweiton on the front panel. We used the same system in Australia, but I've never heard of it refered to a Zweiton until I looked it up.
