Hi, Does anyone have any info on Delco televisions? I have a tabletop set I got recently. It's model number tv-102. It's in pretty good shape. I haven't turned it on yet, and haven't messed with it, other then checking the few tubes I could get to without pulling the chassis, I did discover a 5U4 was dead. Also I have 1 knob missing. The on/off-volume. If anyone could hook me up with one I would appreciate it. Thanks!

I can scan schematic for you, just give me an email to send to, also how big a file you can handle. Hi Res scans are around 200K will take at least 2 for the complete.

Chuck, Thank you! I'm on a cable modem so the file size shouln't be a problem. my e-mail is [email protected] I don't know what surprises this set will have for me when I do fire it up. I'll have to get a 5U4, and I'm assuming something shorted to burn out the 5U4 to begin with. Also am looking for a knob. (on/off volume) How old is this set? I thought around 1949 or 1950.

Shows in Vol 4 so in all likelyhood 1949.

Usually when the 5U4 is completely toast, you have a big short closeby on the B+ line. The Stromberg 24 I restored had both 5U4's dead, I put in a pair of new ones, fired it up on the variac and still lost one in a real neat light display. Was a dead shorted input cap.

Thanks Chuck! This will help when I finally get arount to looking at it. I'm not to familiar with the older B & W sets, but hope I can get this one going as it will be the oldest one in my small collection. I got it at an estate sale from the original owners for the right price, $12.50!!!!
