An Orange Portacolor?

yup its a portacolor, bout 1978. I think this was the last year for the portacolor, and tubes in general for GE.
I've never seen an orange one, so its either a really well done paint job --or there was something else offered other than the fake wood look. |
I've seen several Solid State "Porta Color" sets in this color, so I bet that one's real. (Before anyone corrects me on the Solid State Porta Color, I know they stopped saying Porta Color before that. I just call them that because they have the same 10" tube with the same phosphor dots that you can see from across the room) :)

Yeah, I've got a sort-of maroon SS Porta-Color..Remember, it WAS the '70s, garish colors were "in"..

Yep...seen 'em B4. They look like Kraft French Dressing.

Yep, it's a Portacolor. Never seen an orange one before though! The seller says this one was made in 1975, and that sounds reasonable. The picture of the back is far too low-res to see the manufacturing date, but you can tell it's probably not a 1978 model due to the routing of the lead-in for the built-in antenna. (from what I've seen, it appears that starting in 1977 the antenna lead from the built-in antenna was no longer routed through the inside of the cabinet)
