That's a really nice portable with paperwork and box, interesting find.

If only Funai didn't make the same crappy models in 20,000 brands, like today (and clutter the pawn shops full of broken combo sets and plastic-shelled video decks).

My God, I haven't seen one of those since I was a teenager. It'll be interesting to see what it goes for; I recall a price of $99.99 at Two Guys in the 70's.

I saw a couple Ghetto Blasters recently with 3" or 4" TVs built into them. Also a couple relatively small-sized Sony Trinitrons (though not THAT small), the latter at fancy prices close to two hundred bucks! :scratch2: Does anyone collect SMALL TVs? Could make an interesting hobby, less space-consuming than collecting full-sized ones. :yes:

Yeah, I got a WHOLE bunch of itty-bitty TVs...One of these guys, the ubiquitous Sony 5-303W, a Sears Binoc, a Sony KV-400 & 4100, a Panasonic CT-101 & 3311, the Singer 5.5", A Philco Safari, & a few more. Most of these l'il fellas don't seem to have had a lot of use. They are cute as bug's ears, too...<grin>

Consumer Reports did a Once Over on this set and (surprise, surprise) was not impressed. Still, I wouldn't mind having one just because it's so darn cute!

I have worked on those a long time ago. They were quite well made, lots of metal inside and the picture was great as I recall. I wanted one for a while as I too collect small sets. I have since stopped buying small ones though, since they will not work after 2009 and are too small to be of practical use with a converter box. I am on the lookout for an ATSC battery portable when they become available:yes:

I received one of these sets in 1970 as a birthday gift. It still works and I have purchased some parts sets if anyone needs any. I also have the service manual. By sending a CRT to someone awhile back he was able to get his Symphonic working that his late father had given him. His Thank's alone was worth the cost of the parts sets. I have no idea how to rotate the pic, sorry.
