So this is an RCA Chinese TV set made in USA? Rather than an RCA set made in China? :D

I remember the first time I ever watched Hawaii-50, it was at a friends house and his folks had a set like that. The color in the opening credits was amazing.

Oooh... I like that!. I never knew they made RCA's with doors like that, let alone Chinese, or a roundie.

I thought only Magnavox made a "rolltop desk" :P. Those were beautiful sets, I used to have one, but it was rectangular, had burned up circuit boards. Never got it sorted out. Whish I had it now, I'd try harder.

Notice the TV frame is painted black instead of the usual light brown. Looks like a remote. The RCA manual says it's the "Canton" model and there were 2 versions. One with RV at the end of the model # so maybe that's the remote model and that hole above the bottom controls may have an RCA logo stuck in it. I guess the remote would have been standard brown or maybe black? I think the black remotes were only made after '67 with the newer RCA logo.
That set is beautiful and I wish I could get it.
I think price will go up to $400.00

Hey John, I have one of those Maggies you're talking about. A remote model even! Figure out a way to get it from Omaha and it's YOURS! I like this RCA set as well. I WANT it! I wonder how many miles it is from my house.... a guy may have to mapquest.....

No excuse now........

Beautiful set but it would seem they missed the Chinese decor fad by at least 10 years?
Was there a revival in the mid 60's?

How strange to discover a Chinese style RCA roundie... at the same time that Doug mentioned parting with his Chinese style Zenith roundie! That would be really wild... having both a Zenith AND an RCA roundie!
