Ooh looky, a CTC40

Those are rare, and kinda neat! But pray that the crazy power supply in that chassis is OK! If not, buy a whole carton of those SCRs because you'll blow a dozen trying to troubleshoot :sigh:

This was their second best combo for that year.

I guess that is a '70 model?

Hi Andy,
Do you have the photo of that same set in the '72 model with the CTC-54?

It sure went perfect with that carpet! I didn't realize that there were both old logo and new logo versions of the -40.

I just have that one catalog.

I love the 60's living rooms they show the sets in.

And another weird difference among CTC-40 models is that some have a CTC-38 style control panel and say "NEW VISTA COLOR solid state", and others say "TRANS VISTA COLOR" and have the later style control panel that tilts out. Then there is also the CTC-44, which is nearly identical except for the HV section.

I have also noticed this difference with the CTC-38's themselves too...the ones with the "RCA Victor" logo seem to always use the small control panel door under the speaker, while the block letter "RCA" logo models use the pull out control panel where the speaker tilts out
or have the controls behind a flap next to the tuning knobs.
