The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada
 

Anybody seen this yet? I saw one or two previews on tv and then never heard anything about it again.

I saw this in the theater. The story is set in the southwest and revolves around a promise made to a friend. In my opinion, not a great movie but well worth watching. Recommended.

not great, almost, though. my 'willing suspension of disbelief' was challenged in several areas; i was just not able to accept some of the actions taken. plus, the overlay of TL Jones part of Call in Lonesome Dove taking his buddy McCrae's corpse home for burial onto the role he played here in Los Tres Entierros...i mean, how many times must one actor carry a friend's corpse home in one career.

these misgivings aside, in spite of the loose knit nature of the narrative, and the heavy handing moralizing, i still enjoyed it, and applaud TL's utter independance and willingness to do things his own way
