I have to ask...
If you watch "THE EXORCIST" on one of those things, will the picture tube spin around like Linda Blair's head? |
Omigawd !! The Atavachron !!

Formica Conversion joke?
Is it just me or is that simply a DIY formica conversion joke that went over the head of the current seller? Did Philco ever sell formica cabinet Predictas? Say no, please.

I am guessing it is original.
Someone here will know. If it is not original it may have been covered proffessionally when new for an afluent customer. If that is the case I believe it is still worth very much. |
It is home made. Nothing like that ever came out of the Watsontown cabinet plant.

It's a "Frankenset" made from the corpse of a dead Predicta.

Actually, I think this model is the Atavachron II. :D veg |
I'll say this for it: it looks better than if I had tried to do it!

I don't think that one is factory but I have a Predicta that I believe to be factory and I have never seen another. It has a Princess chassis in a painted gold wood Holiday-like cabinet. No model number as the back is missing. Photo below. Anyone familiar with this? Maybe an export model?

That's a very rare model of Predicta indeed, they didn't make a whole lot of those. They were sold as the "Horseman", and were marketed at the blind. They were somewhat cheaper than the "Princess" but not by a lot. For whatever reason they weren't too popular.
