Or off any old flyback from a 90s color set... Some of the bigger TVs had anode leads up to 3 or 4 feet long.

Also salvaging the lead from a junk modern set will get you a new anode cap too.

They have it? I was digging through Mouser online when I posted that. I did find some that was $1250.00 (thats not a typo) and it was hard to tell how much wire you were getting.

Do you know the part number? I order fairly regularly from them and could save shipping.

I salvaged one, but it wasnt long enough. there isnt really anywhere around here to go digging. The last TV shop here closed in January, and thats where I got the short one. Fortunately my 2nd anode cap looks good, and since it's original, I will probably use it if I can. The big plastic plate cap on the 6bk4 was crumbly the last time I had to repair it. I'm a little worried thats going to fall apart if I try to change it, but it is wired with the same wire as the disintegrating 2nd anode lead, and I think I should probably change the wire on it, too.

I prefer silicone jacketed HV wire, it is supple and easy to work with, though the silicone is not terribly rugged, and can be torn.

Yes, and unfortunately at a little over .200 for a jacket size, I dont think it will fit in my 2nd anode cap, or the 6bk4 cap. The silicone you posted looks promising, as does some red Sumitomo wire I found on the bay. I'll measure the O.D. of the old stuff tonight. Thanks for the tip.

How long does it have to be? If 18" will work, I got several of these still in the original wrapping, it says on the label : 18" anode lead replacement with 1 1/2" cup for COLOR TV : I don't know what could possibly be different about them for color TV, but anyway I got a few of them to spare if you want one.

If it's really for color TV, it has a higher breakdown rating for the higher voltage.
