I was messing around tonight and decided to do a little experiment.

Picture 1 shows an original DVD playing through a demodulator on a vintage set. (Cheapest of the cheap 1957 GE 9")
Picture 2 is a burned copy of the same DVD, notice what's missing!

On the original those dashed lines fade in and out while watching, on the burned copy they don't. Settings on the TV were not changed at all between pictures.

(Note: In the event of my capture I will disavow any knowledge of any burned DVD's) :para:

The main thing is to find a player that won't output macrovision or has the ability to turn it off. For being a cheap set the picture quality is really good. Great pics. :)

Take the Universal Video Board from Darius. This PCB cuts the bright signals in the sync space. See
