Got my sync back in the Sylvania, but...

Was it Roseanne Rosannadanna who said "It's always something"?

Anyhoo, I replaced the 6gh8As in the Sylvania as recommended--with 6ea8s, actually--and that took care of the sync problem. Thanks guys!

Now it looks like my vertical linearity is all off. No amount of twidding with the vlin/size/position controls will fix the problem. I don't remember having this problem before I replaced those tubes. Coincidence?

Any suggestions? Yogi Bear's head looks awful !

Sigh. And I still have to fix the convergence, too.

Alas, poor Yogi!

I would say probably a weak vert osc./output tube.

Thanks, Chad. You always come through!

I'll pick up a new 6LU8 and give it a shot.

I love it when the problem's a tube!

If that's a no go, check the resistors on the vert output. Sometimes a shorted or open cap causes this problem too.

First, try the old tubes to see if they had any effect (I doubt they will). It's possible that when you replaced those tubes, you cracked a solder connection, or maybe even the board if it was brittle.
