Anyone know who made this?

I made that! ;)

What is it?

A TV

Rob, it's supposed to be a TV combo unit I think.
Someone in L.A. is offering to sell me several old sets, three of which are pretty common early 50's floor models but one is a Philco 12" Combo and this unidentified one.

I guess I could ask the person what it is but it might take awhile before he could get to it, I just wanted to see if I could find out now.

It has a really nice elaborate cabinet!

It presents me with a few problems,
1. I don't have room for two huge consoles
2. I don't think two of them will fit in my Toyota P.U.
3. I don't have room for two huge consoles
4. My back is too bad to be lugging these things around :(

Eric, Is that all? ;)
That closed console looks curious, especially considering that those upper doors aren't tall. Not enough for any but the smallest picture. Might be a mirror-in-the-lid, but if so I have never seen anything like it. Looks like the left lower door is hinged and the right is fixed. Storage and speaker? I have seen radio/record player combos with that kind of arrangement so maybe the guy is just mistaken.

Marlin's right

It is only a radio/phono/recorder unit, missing parts at that but still it's a nice cabinet!

So, anyone know what make it is?

Umm, I guess that actually makes this thread "off topic" :p:

Eric,

If I had that set cluttering up my shop, I'd offer to sell it to someone too. Walk away. You can find a complete whatever that will thrill you more. Save your space (and $$$) for a real treasure!

What is it?

I'm pretty sure (95%) it's a Westinghouse. One of the antique malls here had one for $110 and it just sat....and sat....and finally sold for $65.

But not before someone took all the knobs off. Wasn't really a bad set, it was just, well, BIG!

Saw another like this several years back in blonde (Admiral?) but it had a 7" tube and I didn't buy it.

Live and learn.

Michael

My hope was that it was a 7 console but alas not.

Would anyone in L.A. be interested in these sets and several others?
I don't think I want to go all that way just for the Philco but I would hate to see it get trashed.

I don't know what he wants for the sets.

Eric
