Kinda looks like a prewar set, don't it ? Wonder if those are pics w/it "on"-looks like a good raster, anyway. Well, even if I COULD afford it, somebody here-I think maybe Tim-said he'd tried to get a couple English sets, & they'd always come in w/the CRTs broken. too bad.-Sandy G.

Then you would bake them by the heat of a "Burning Bush." :lmao: Bush is a British TV that tended to catch on fire as the story goes. Then there is "The Prince of Darkness" that lurks in many British vehicles courtesy of Lucas Electric.

Bidding on this set has gone to $992.68!!! It still has 1 day and a few hours to go. OUCH! I really like the design of this set.

I'm guessing this was the first English post war set as has seperate chassis which is unique. Also the British must know a lot more about this set than we do, The CRT mask looks altered???? CRT replaced or retro fitted- doesn't look completed???? Didn't really affect bidding price. :scratch2:

Very large set, these were called Alexandria Palace TVs I believe ----as receives on one channel, hence the clean & simple looking front.

The EHT HV supplies could be possibly LETHAL!!! :sigh:

Would be great to get such a set, to tinker with. MOST parts are huge!!!! Very different from American sets.

Some of the Brits prewar sets looked basically same as this set. They also used rectangular CRTs Masks for prewar sets. Could this be a rare prewar TV rebadged to sell as a postwar TV set??????????????????????????

OUCH! It went for $1,645.24!!!! :sigh: i hope the person that bought the set was from England. Shipping back to the states would be a killer.
