These screen shots are from an episode where an unscrupulous TV repairman is trying to sell Sam some unneeded repairs. Of course Sam is wise to him and zaps the set back together while the repairmans in the kitchen making a phone call. She tells him she fixed it with a nail file :rofl:

Note the color picture on this B&W set :scratch2: this is a colorized episode but chances are they would have inserted a color pic on the set in any case.

Too bad it was only a TV show as anybody who could wiggle their nose and zap a Zenith to life would be *very* popular around here. No need for cap checkers or tube testers. Just a nail file ROTFL.

I seem to remember an episode (actual color instead of colorized BW) where they had a roundie in the first half and a rectangular in the second half. It would been during the Dick York era.

I think only the first two seasons were broadcast in B&W. It's my understanding that they were actually all filmed (taped?) in color!

Bewitched was filmed. Chances are the B/W seasons were filmed in B/W otherwise they would not be B/W now. There was no point to film in color and broadcast in B/W.
The produces at that time in TV history did not think much about rerun $$$$. When they switched to color Zenith changed the TV on the set to a color model. As I remember they switched in 1966 or the fall of 65

Season one of Bewitched was just released on DVD. I am hot on the trail of that release. I loved the show and I had hopes that it would be released.

Season One is available in your choice of B&W OR COLOR! Many shows were still B&W in the mid-sixties. I know...I was there planted in front of the tee-vee set! :D

Season one was filmed in B&W, you can get the Seson one DVD box set in either original B&W or Colorized, I opted for Colorized since you can have it both ways by turning off the color.
They did a very nice job of it as you can see from the screen captures!

Being an old fart, I grew up with B&W. Color film for cameras was only used on special occasions. B&W was the norm and when I was little virtually everything was broadcast in B&W. So to me it's nothing unusual and I've always appreciated the wonderful use of contrast and lighting on B&W. However, I've noticed that my niece and others her age (20's) refuse to watch anything in B&W!

Nope, it's still the standard 4:3 ratio.

That set looks almost identical to the first color set i remember as a kid. My "rich" Uncle Reggie bought a 23" Rect. Zenith in 1966. He kept the local tv repairman in business just coming to his house to manually work the fine tuning slugs back in place on the turrets. I took him quite a while to realize that no matter how much you turned the fine tuning ring you could not get the Munsters or Route 66 to come in in "Living Color".

I am in the middle of a Bewitched marathon. Target had one copy left on the shelf. It was the color version. Like Eric said that you can always turn off the color. Come on Sabrina!!!! GGGRRRRRRRR! I always had a thing for her dark hair sister. Elizabeth Montgomery was a beautiful woman! :thmbsp:
