Its been a long time since I've seen one of these. When I was pretty young an uncle/aunt gave us one of these for Christmas. (this was in the early 80s, it was an old set they had gathering dust) Many a night I watched that thing. Unfortunately it was in my sister's room & not mine. Had a position on the vhf tuner for uhf, of course, but no uhf tuner. I thought that if you just tuned it to "U" and turned the fine tuning you would be tuning the uhf, I must have cranked that fine tuning dial 100 times desperately trying to get some more stations. That was a reliable set until finally the tuning got real weak, I guess Dad tossed it :( The little square you see below the left speaker is, as I recall, just a "GE" emblem. I have seen magazine ads for this series from the early 60s & they really spent a lot of time talking about how modern these sets were. I think they may have been the first to use Compactrons. The one show I watched on that old set over & over was "Thats Incredible". Not my absolute favorite but on a Monday night anything would do!
As fondly as I remember this one I wouldn't pay $50+shipping to own this one. But thats just me being a cheapskate!
