Is that the channel indicator in the top center of the set? That's kinda neat!

My current location: Rodeo, California

Yes it is. If you were to see the set close up you'd notice the number itself is in kind of a TV-shaped bezel. Some documentary I watched a few years ago had a 1954 RCA commercial that touted (with song and dance, no less!) the style of that set as a "big change in television history." Well, if they said so, but who was anybody to argue with Sarnoff?

What a steal for $12! You've got a pair of lovelies for sure.

I think you should get some sort of reward for figuring out where to squeeze all this stuff in!

Nice steal for $12.00 though!

RetroHacker 03-07-2005 08:13 PM

Wow - I can't believe you scored those for $12. I should check eBay more often...
Very, very nice. You'll have to post some more detailed pictures when you get them hauled home - I'd love to see the chassis and the tuning mechanism in the wooden one! That swivel set is awesome too - never seen one like that before. Definitely a good find.

I like 'em! :thmbsp:

Cool, 2 more fishtanks :D Nice for 12 bucks, even I woulda bought them for that. They would make nice speaker stands.

Eric H 03-07-2005 10:32 PM

That is really cool!
One at least even works. First order of biznus, take off that safety glass and clean off that dirt, you'll probably double the brightness! :D

Kamakiri 03-08-2005 06:27 AM

No doubt. Actually they BOTH work! Just waiting to hear back from the guy to see when I can pick em up :)
