Need Help; Panasonic Tau CT-30WC15N 16:9 HD 2005 - Dead After Factory Reset

Panasonic Tau HD CT-30WX15N: HV for about a second, then shutdown with front LED flashing, after a service-menu deflection reset

Set: Panasonic Tau HD CT-30WX15N, May 2005 build (rear label shows FP419). It was running a Pi 5 over HDMI at 1080i

What happened

I entered service mode with the usual sequence: CABLE mode, 30-minute sleep timer, channel 124, volume 0, then Vol- on the set, which gives the red CHK. I had adjusted vertical S-correction earlier, and the set ran fine for about 20 minutes afterward. I then pressed POWER on the remote to open the service menu and held RECALL for the documented 3 seconds to reset deflection because the 480p was really messed up. The set shut off while I was holding the button, and I never saw a reset message. Since then:

HV comes up for roughly a second and then drops, with nothing visible on the tube. The front LED flashes. I counted 1. In the sibling manual’s table, 1 flash is POWER+140 / 140 OCP

If I unplug D1, the plug that appears to bring AC to the hot-side switcher on the D-Board, the set stays up in standby and never flashes.

What I’m asking

Has anyone seen a Tau HD die at a service-menu reset and found the cause? A 140 OCP flash with HV dropping after about a second is what I’m trying to understand. I'm hoping that this did not corrupt the EEPROM.
