Looking for a Preprogrammed Eeprom
 

Looking for a Preprogrammed Eeprom for the RCA CTC177AM2 Chassis.


RCA # 228287 & ICU U3201

I have a 25 Inch Console Set I would like to get running again but we took the Eeprom from the Main Board to use in a 27 Inch RCA Console Set.

I am willing to pay the going rate for this piece.

If you still have the good E-prom do this. Keep in mind its been years
so I may miss a step !
1) do the usual soldering
2) install an IC socket
3) install the GOOD IC & fire up.
4) carefully remove the good IC & put the bad IC in while set is running.
5) turn off set. All the last settings are reloaded into the bad IC.

There is some risk to your "good" IC. I did quite a few & it worked every time.
Almost all E-proms are good but have corrupted data.

Alternatively, an EEPROM programmer could be used to copy the good ROM to the bad ROM chip.
