CRT test Needed in MIchigan

Looking for help to test a crt close to Bay City, or Traverse City Michigan.

A gentleman in Michigan has a 14qp4 but does not know the condition of the crt and he does not have a crt tester. He travels between the 2 cities and could probably bring the tube to someone with a crt tester in close proximity to either of these 2 cities.

If you have a crt tester in that vicinity, or know of someone who might be able to help us out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help in advance,
Bob Galanter

Hey I have a B&K 465 that had been gone through and has new parts. Would you like to borrow it. I'd like a deposit and the shipping covered. Then you send it back and I'll give you your deposit back.

Isn't easier to just buy one off ebay. There are so many and they are all quite cheap.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will try to explain why I am looking for someone who is willing to help.

Yes; I could send him my crt tester. I have done that on a previous ocassion, but It was returned damaged, and the tube that was tested was a dud. So it was a wasted effort and I ended up with a damaged crt tester.

Buying a tester for the purpose of testing one crt seems rather expensive, considering the possibility that the crt may test bad.

Therefore: I am still trying to locate someone with a crt tester that is close to the aforementioned locations, so that the person with the 14QP4 can bring the tube in person to someone close by, who can do us a favor and test the crt for us.

There must be someone near by these locations wit a crt tester. Please help to pass the word through the community.

Thanks!

The problem is most of them need going through. I bought 3 of those BK 465s and each one read dramatically different. That's why I rebuilt both of them. Now they both read the same. So if he's not competent enough to rebuild it, it's a waste of money.

I like the Heathkit 5230 the best. It has 4 meters so you can watch all the guns together:
