I would enjoy reading descriptions of your set and the restoration process, rather than just seeing links to videos. Do you have any plans to post text or pictures?

I pretty much operate the same way...I almost never even click on video links on restorations as I don't have time for watching something I already have the skills to do and could read a summary of in 1/4 the time (thus why I stick to the text summaries).

At the risk of sounding negative, I am also one who never clicks on a YouTube link. They often are way too long and ramble on. I appreciate the attempt though. What works for me best is the written word with some photos.

Sometimes I'll watch one of Shango's vids all the way thru, just out of amazement at the guy's sheer acumen and gung-ho approach.

I understand, but a lot of folks like the YouTube link, especially the younger folks who are interested in old TV’s and Radios.

Nothing wrong with youtube links, I mean, we are restoring video devices, but production values make it. Which is why I don’t do my own. It takes planning and scripting to pop out a good video. I’ve even seen it on youtube ads (there’s a Zoro on that sounds like it was done at 3:00 pm on friday.)

Stuff like background noise/hum, fumbling, etc, makes me turn off a video fast. Also, excessively long intros. Get to the meat of things. You’ll notice the ones with high sub counts get into the subject fast and have a clean presentation. (Even Asionometry, with his intro plugging his Patreon is into the subject in under a minute.)


It takes effort, and honestly, video editing tools do so much, it’s overwhelming at first. But the “uhhh” and “hold on while I adjust the light” and stuff like that… you can always cut stuff out (you’d be amazed at how many edits some videos have. Someone I know counted over 100 edits in a 3 minute music video(!))

Not a debbie downer here - just trying to be constructive.

Finishing the replacement legs , stripping the old finish from the front of the cabinet then stain and Polyurethane on both.

How did you come by the dimensions to make your replacement legs?

I basically looked at Tandem’s online to get an idea of the leg height and shape. Their not perfect but look in proportion to the cabinet
