I believe these were made between 64 and 66. It says they've solid state tuning with a vacuum tube rectifier. It turns on but I haven't hooked it up to a signal yet. I was going to open it up and blow it out first.
Does anyone know about these sets? They're so ugly that they're cute. |
I had one just like it. Got it in 1964. The picture tube finally got weak and it was stored in a less than ideal place. I cleaned out the basement this year and discarded it.
Yes, it only has one tube - the high voltage rectifier. Everything else is 100% solid state. In its day, it was a great performer. Let me know if you have any specific questions about this set. It's probably going to need some of the electrolytic capacitors replaced at a minimum. Be gentle with the knobs - old plastic is not very strong. |

Opened the back, a lot of dust but no cigarette tar residue everywhere, I call that a Win.
I'll take note of the caps and order some up. |
Fixed a few in the olden days. Ran nice but not fun to work on.
Always 'lytic caps. 73 Zeno:smoke: LFOD ! |
What a nice little early transistor TV.
