RCA roundie picked up for a member today!
 

After a dicey incident with the car we picked up this RCA in NY for a fellow member today who shall go nameless until if and or when he wishes to announce his latest project! 1966 Mark IX, chassis CTC20-C, modern cabinet, "The Harper", looks good!

Yes, for us, but this set is for another member, as stated.
And the Zenith Early American set of our dreams is under restoration (elsewhere, not by us) as we speak.

We are in central NY south of Syracuse.

For an RCA that cataract isn’t too bad. RCA usually has a pretty bad cataract on roundies. Wonder if it was from a low humidity area.

Those green Zenith style cataracts are fairly self limiting in most cases...I don't think I've seen the Zenith style cataracts get more than ~3" in.
Those Zenith style cataracts are my favorite to fix, just attach a no18 steel guitar string to 2 handles, use it to saw through the glue, once separated peel the bulk of the glue off, dissolve the tenacious bits off with Goof Off, clean spotless and silicone the edge of the safety glass back on... I've never damaged a Zenith type tube fixing a cataract which is way better than I can say about RCA types.

I may one or two of all my Zenith sets that might need to have an a-string pulled thru.

The RCA and GE crt cateracts are great on average, but some rectangulars are not.
