Admiral 22X12

I just acquired this TV. The chassis has been mostly restored and the cabinet has some scratches and a few small gouges, but no cracks. Also no pencil box door, speaker and no back.

The chassis is still pretty dirty and has some rust on it. But not too bad. Here are some pics of the chassis. I have the HV cover, it just wasn't on it when I picked it up.

Oh, the CRT is a RCA 12LP4A dated 6 over 13.

Here is a picture of the date:

It tested almost new on my BK 467.

Here's the life test result:

It also had very good cut-off!

Tonight I powered it up using the variac. It plays. There's issues but here ya go:

Nice!

I have one of those chassis that I pulled from a crusty combo unit a few years back that I keep around just for testing 10BP4 and 12LP4 CRT's. It's been all recapped and aligned but I made no effort to clean up the chassis much. Every so often I fire it up on the bench and enjoy an old movie with the tubes all glowing in the background. Very easy to work on and they produce a pretty nice picture.

[edit]Here it is tonight with a metal envelope 8AP4A stuffed in the yoke. :D
