Hi. I got this vintage Panasonic VCR manufactured in November of 1979 a few days ago. It plays and records perfect. I cleaned everything and replaced a couple of belts. The only problem is that when I hit stop, it does't wind the tape back into the cassette. The capstan motor should continue spinning while unloading to wind the tape back. So, mine has electronic problem and interrupts the power to the motor. Rewind and FF both work. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Man that this is a beast! Looks like it was built right! Have you checked to make sure that every thing was lubricated? I've had VCR issues from front loaders due to them being grimy and dirty inside.

I'd look for a sam's for it. It probably uses one or more mechanical switches to opperate the re-spool function and if one is dirty that could be causing it.

I seriously doubt, there would be any Sams coverage on it, as it wasn't built for the north American market.

If there was a US NTSC only deck with the same mech odds are the transport and it's basic circuits will be the same.

I remember this chassis/mech well and was used in North America. They were also made for other brands (RCA, Sylvania, Philco to name a few).

Hi all. The American version is the Panasonic PV-1200/RCA VBT-200/VCT-200 etc.. My machine was made for the Middle East market but was also sold in Greece.
