Value of this micamold?
1 Attachment(s)
I'm horrible with these. Can anyone give me the value of this cap?
Thanks!!! :) |
This cap goes between pins 4 and 5 of the 6J5 in an RCA 8TS30. I have this cap at .0047 now from the RCA factory manual. This is one of the "larger" Aerovox caps. I'm having vertical drifting issues with this set, and thought I'd replace it. Do I need a mica here or is it a standard cap?

That's the problem, this is an Aerovox with no distinguishable arrow. But as I mentioned, I ended up identifying it in the RCA manual as a .0047. Now I just need to know if a standard cap will work.

Sams IDs your cap as 4700pf @ 500VDC, which would make it a silver mica. However, as Chuck said, a poly will work well enough to allow you to diagnose your problem.

Having a vertical linearity issue, replaced some out of tolerance resistors on the last go-round. Stuffed in the .0047, and it seems about 50% better. Not 100%, but much better than it was :)
