A rectangular screen set appears at 6:37. Shemp loses his ring in it and starts tearing its stand-in apart, eventually pulling out a round CRT that has a blow pattern, which Moe brandishes like a club. It's understandable why they wouldn't have destroyed a new set for this bit, but I can't tell if the first one is even real. For all I know it could be the same set mocked up to look newer.

It seems to me that they used to piece older film clips with the newer episodes.
Only us collectors would know the difference. They always seemed to favor Zenith products.

I always considered that my favorite Stooges episode. Lots of laughs in that one and a storyline that's perfect for them to do their shtick with. I believe that cabinet is a complete prop with parts taken from various sets. Funny how they used an obviously bad CRT. I guess the budget didn't allow for a good one!

And/or in spite of all the accidents they have, they didn't want to risk an implosion. :) It's my understanding that those CRTs blow more violently than later color units.

I had a 7" electrostatic CRT implode on me in an Admiral set for no apparent reason. It was the sound of putting a hot glass pot under cold water followed by a hissing blast of air. I had no idea what it was at first, then I saw the nasty crack across the screen!
