1957 Magnavox portable
 

I recently acquired this rather uncommon '57 Magnavox portable, model MV116, I believe. It's unusual in that the top half is ribbed copper. What attracted me to it the most is that it's the exact same "Marilyn Monroe" model set that was taken from her Brentwood home when she died. That actual set sold for 50K at Christies in 1999 and is at the MZTV museum in Toronto. It's just an adequate performer with a chassis resto.

Can you show some nude shots of the chassis.
does this set use a power transformer?

A friend did the chassis resto on it and I believe it does have a power transformer. I don't have any pics of the chassis as of yet. My friend said the quality is about that of a period Muntz. The picture is good, but does require occasional adjustments.
