Needed; good vintage capacitor tester or modern esr meter.
 

Just wondering if anyone here has a unit that is in good working order that they would like to sell. I would prefer a good vintage unit since word has it that they do the best job, AND I just like the vintage stuff better in certain cases.

The more modern ESR meter would be my second choice. The bottom line is I want to be able to do GOOD tests on capacitors. I have only used an ESR meter once and I tend to shy away from such things that use a battery as its power source. I do admit that I don't know much about how effective ESR meters are known to be, but obviously they can't put the component under any kind of stress. Seems like it wouldn't be too far from the capacitance capability of a modern DMM.
