Philco Predicta Tandem--need parts for on/off switch

I'm having someone repair my mahogany Philco Predicta Tandem for me, and the TV has a switch override in the back that my friend is taking off and making safer by adding a cord with a thumbwheel to turn the TV on and off. Apparently, sometime during the decades, the resistors by the front dial However, it would be nice to have it turn on from the front dial as it’s supposed to.

In order to do this, he says he needs the following parts, which I wonder if anyone has for sale or knows where to get. Actually, he says these two parts need to be together: the rear being a 2.5 megaohm variable resistor with a power switch and a small size split shaft (he says there’s two sizes of shafts,) and the front being a contrast control with a 2 mega ohm variable resistor.

I’d appreciate any information, and if anyone is interested in this great TV once it's working, let me know and I'll keep you posted. Thanks!

Those switches sometimes can be fixed. Take it apart and the small ratchet and contacts can be cleaned and adjusted. I may have new ones that I bought on ebay if you need one,

Thanks for the info, tvdude1!
Let me know if you have them--the guy who's working on it for me says he's going to try to shoot some solvent in there and see if he can clean it, and he said that only the rear-most part of the unit I described needs to be fixed, which he says he's not great at doing, which is why he suggested we replace the entire three-piece unit (I guess the two controls and the switch? He said two part at first, as above, so I'm confused, but I'm sure you're not.) If you could check and see if you have one, that would be great. When you say new do you mean NOS?
Thanks again!

New Old Stock - meaning it's an old part, but never used.

The control has three parts to it. A volume control, contrast control, and push on - push off power switch.

Will look tonight for you. Tell him not to replace complete control. There easy to replace or fix.

I found one earlier today for $25 bucks but I have to make sure it's the right thing so it would be nice to have a backup just in case :)

No hurry, just enjoy the holiday!

Thanks for your help.

Forgot to ask--how much do you want for one and is it the entire three part switch?
Thanks so much!
