Resistors for Predicta circuit board.
I'm going to be replacing a few components on my Philco Predicta Holiday (9L37 chassis). Several of the original carbon composition resistors are out of spec and need replacing. As can be seen in the pic, many caps and a few resistors have already been replaced by a previous owner (including the K4 network). Basically I like to know what type of resistors I should use, metal film, metal oxide, or what? And what about those remaining mica (?) capacitors, leave them or replace them?

I used metal film for the 1/2 watt resistors and metal oxide for anything larger.
I think there's only one mica cap one the left side right in front of a tube socket. I replaced it after reading that it was a common point of failure. It looks like your K4 network has already been rebuilt. It's shown in the foreground in my photo. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8292/7...6650af09_c.jpg |
Wow, that board looks good Bob! Yeah, the K4 on my board was done recently by a previous owner/collector. I may tackle some of the other K_ networks, I'll see if I can come up with right values, etc. on those. I'll get some of this stuff ordered tomorrow so I can begin. Thanks.
