RCA TRK-12 sold at ETF auction
The highlight of today's auction at the Early Television Foundation convention was a prewar RCA TRK-12 -- complete and restorable -- selling for $6.5K.
The chassis were sitting on a table near the cabinet. Pretty interesting to see those up close. I didn't have the presence of mind to take photos, but perhaps someone else did. It was also cool to see the RCA prototoype color set and Dumont color-wheel monitor in operation, after hearing presentations about their restoration. Man, you gotta come to the convention, it's a blast! Every year there's something awesome going on. I'm partyin' at the motel 6 right now:D

I was there for the auction & presentations, just couldn't stay long.
Maybe people should write their forum monikers on their nametags. Speedboats pass in the night, otherwise. ("Hmm, I wonder if that nondescript guy named Joe Schmoe is the one who goes by Selsun_Blue in the XYZ Forum?") Phil Nelson |
The complete TRK-120 went for $7,000 and will be heading north to Canada.
