please help identify this maggy chassis updated
I pulled this chassis out of the magnavox. It's a mid to late 60's astro sonic.
Cannot locate a paper on it, but stamped on the back of the chassis is 95052 in black ink. I thought i needed a sams 1189-1, but now i'm not sure. I thought this was what i had https://www.samswebsite.com/en/photo...x/model/T95002 Now i am checking tubes and i found a 6au6 tube. That is not on the list for the photofact. I seriously doubt someone put in the wrong tube. Not sure what the rules are, but i can send a link too someone via pm to check my photofact and see if it matches the chassis. Here's a pic, this thing is FILTHY. I'll try to get better pics tomorrow. So if u know what chassis this is please let me know and thanks in advance. http://www.paintforcars.com/images/maggy3.jpg http://www.paintforcars.com/images/maggy2.jpg |
also, how do u get the tubes out of those metal sleeves?
|
You mean in the IF strip or tube shields? pull straight up for IF tubes or the round shields should just slide off. The IF strip is in the lower left side of the pic with the metal cover over the components

The 6AU6 is an AFC tube. It's on a small PC board with only one tube and a coil. It's probably not shown because it's not used on all models. The chassis is probably a T950-52. |
I have a spare T950 chassis, a bit cleaner, and sent you a PM.

I've aquired chassis that were working that looked much worse than this one. Try one out of a smoking house, or cats, etc....
|
It looks like a T-933 chassis. Look at the 12AX7 (hope I remember that right) pincushion tube in front of the chassis.

My T-933 (also my avatar) came from a thrift store. The lady said "Won't that make a great fish tank"?
With a lot of help and patience it is a wonderful performer. It had so many hours on channel 6 the number drum is nearly black on that setting. And you have the stereo too!! |
