He's at $80 and he swears it works. I'm tempted, but it's at least a four to five hour drive.

Not sure, but I think this one has been posted about before.
It is most definately a LATE 60's VERY early 70's color set. It's a 19" "Consolette" and either a "store brand" or of a Japanese make. If it's a store brand, it would be by a Japanese maker. They are great sets, but... the Japanese tube stuff is a b**ch to work on.
I LOVE the cabinet on it. I would get it! Also.. I would try to offer him $50.00. I know I've seen a post about it, so the seller has had it awhile.

I saw this exact picture not that long ago. I think this may have been answered some time ago, but I can't remember what it was.

I stumbled across his ad, it was at least five weeks old. He said he would pay for gas money, and i laughed and said so your going to give me $60 and the tv for free?

It's 500 miles round trip, with my truck that's at least $150-160 in gas and tolls.

Looking at the guts Im 99% sure its a Toshiba.
The tag on the chassis looks like there chassis # tag
& all the holes look like the portables of that era.
No question its Jap & mid-late 60's

What is an appoinment? I believe you meant "appointment" with a "t" as it took me a while to figure out what you were attempting(trying) to say/type.

Regardless, I hope you may find more television(s) for your collection. I would enjoy finding/owning more too, but have limited (small) space available.

Norbert,
Was just wondering.... are you "into" (like) ham radio's?

appoinment Definition: A variation of the more common word 'appointment' meaning you have a defined meeting time and date with a person, or business etc .

appoinment: Applies to meeting arrangements with persons selling items on craigs list. They may or may not be able to give directions, would rather give directions than address and zip code, don't own a working clock, don't have much of a concept of time, totally imaginary beliefs regarding household items and monetary value. Oh, ya, can't work a camera. They often can't write an email, when they do it reads like a junior high school kids text message.

You have an appoinment to see my item day after Tuesday next week right after I get home, I'll be here, corner house with the red Dodge parked in the driveway of the third house from me. I'ts always there right after I get home.... see ya.
