Sylvania Dualette

The museum just got a Dualette, and in the process of researching it I found another one that is advertised for sale. Since this is such a unique set I though someone on this forum might be interested in it. I have no affiliation with the seller:

I've been wanting one of these for years! Maybe one day...

My problem is SHIPPING...NE Tenn, we didn't have TV til '54, so nobody had much reason to have a TV B4 then..So the really old, desirable sets are few & far between here..My 7" Admiral I got was from the estate of the guy who ran the Theater..He had a radio shop, bought the Admiral, took it up onto one of the local hills, where he had rigged up an Antenna, & power...He & his buds would fiddle w/it, on summer evenings, & MAYBE a signal from WAGA or WSB in Hot Lanta would fade in & out..

I've got one sitting here, coral in color, dirty as anything but would clean up nice. A project for another day, though if somebody showed up at my door with enough green paper it would have to go.

I have two of them... one is complete but an ugly color... might even be the same color as the one in Steve's post. The other is pink with much of the cabinet missing or cracked. Both have dead or weak CRT's.

I am surprised they call that one turquoise... looks more like brown/gold/tan... or somethin else other than turquoise.

I had one of those sets. Mine had a remote with it also. I sold it on ebay and got way to much money for it.

Hi All;
When was this set made ?? Is it a late 50's Set ??
THANKS YOU Marty

If mid-century design is your thing, then that set is a must have! Next to the Philco "Predicta" it's tops.
I believe it's not a very good set as far as performance/reliability, but that's true for the Predicta's too and no one seems to mind!

Cool! I'd love to watch a classic Twilight Zone on one of them!

Steve, I just saw the set on your site - AWESOME! With that base and the turquoise and white color combination it is the coolest looking '50's set I've ever seen.
