Cleaning sliding controls

Has anyone found a way to clean sliding volume controls without taking them apart that does not make the control stick and bind after cleaning?

Anything I've tried without taking them apart has always proven temporary at best.

I've only really done the "tuner cleaner" or de-oxit thing. Same as above....it always turns out temporary. I spray it (with the straw) inside while sliding it back and forth like you would any other pot. Sometimes I'll follow this (or even precede it) with "canned air" duster stuff to maybe blow the crap OUT of the control.

I'm actually finding it kinda hard to FIND anything good for doing this anymore. I've resorted to something at Radio Shack simply called "Electronics Cleaner"...and could stand to FIND a better known cleaner.

Have you tried any of the specific lubes/cleaners for sliders and still having problems?
