Panasonic ag 1970 Problem

Hi I have a Panasonic AG 1970
Problem is that i took the board out of the vcr & unhooked the some of the wires to put some new caps on the board & now when i turn on the vcr it will not load a tape & the head spins.
I have a working ag 1970 & i looked at where the wires go & everything seems to be right. so now i dont know what to do

Sounds like some wires were inserted in the wrong place. Re-check again...

today i tried unhooking the wires from a junk AG1970 with bad head & same problem happend i dont know why they do that there must be something you have to do reprogram or reset it somehow.
i will never unhook the wires from my good one or any panasonic vcr ever again

& does anyone have the service manual for this vcr

You can try using this ask-a-tech VCR page and describe your problem for each VCR problem you have, and he will reply back to you in a timely manner.

Go to studiosoundelectronics.com, and click the ask-a-tech link at the left side (third).

It's possible that the regulator in power supply failed, causing video head to spin with no tape inside. You probably have to trash it. Remember, Panasonic is PanaScam sometimes, due to its cheap-looking construction and cheap materials Panasonic used.

ok it's # 6 on the list
but is $65 a good price for it

also there is a Canon VR-HF720A for $70
that is # 1 on the list

It may be worth finding a service manual...

Go get this one. It's my most favorite VCR of all time, and picture quality is really exceptional. You won't regret it. I have the Panasonic-version of it, NV-H70PX, which is the identical twin to Canon VR-HF720A.
