Does this look like a good tool for me to add to my collection? Also, what exactly are "Gun killers"? I don't want it destroying my TV's, lol.

I never used the gun killers on my generators. They were made to connect to the control grid leads of the CRT socket. That was for setting purity.
All I did was turn down the screen controls for the green and blue guns. It was less trouble than using the gun killers.
Sencores were a little more expensive and also more stable. :yes:

I have a Lectrotech (?) color bar generator for sale; if you are interested PM me.

I don't know much about that generator either. How much are you looking for it, I'm not looking to spend much.

I figure $25 plus freight would work for me. It's already in a box; the last guy flaked.

Is there a model number? I'm curious about it.

Hmm, after comparing the two, I'll have to pass, sorry.. The Sencore seems to have a few more controls that can adjust more parameters, including interlace control, which will come in handy. So I purchased the Sencore.

No problem; you do what's best for yourself. Maybe someone else will want mine.

My only question about these generators, where do I attach the gator clips to? Directly to the VHF terminals, or to an RF modulators composite input?

I believe they go to the CRT base to short out individual electron guns. Frankly I don't know much about this stuff, as I am not a TV person. Surely there is a manual available online.

Ok it's RF 300Ohm, just clamps on the screw terminals.

Doesn't work. Has the brightest hum bars I have ever seen, but does appear to make patterns, but some locking issues.

Took it apart, and I see these wonderfully old caps.

Yea, lets fix that before it's powered again.

That baby is really old! All discrete circuitry.
The old style 'lytic is dated 1966. :D
