Well,to me any way. Looks like the CRT has been necked though.:scratch2: Could be a nice project for somebody local? http://raleigh.craigslist.org/zip/3228376725.html

Ouch! a 16G or AP4. :tears:
Look at all the cigarette tar on the glass. Little wonder. Set is from the cigarette capital of the world. |
Looks like a 1950 RCA set with a KCS 47 chassis.

Too bad. Woulda been a nice resto job for somebody.

looks like the neck is broken, and there was something burning inside it, iv seen that swurl smoke pattern before on things .

That is a beautiful set and a nice screen size. Someone should restore that even though it needs a picture tube. RCA sets of that era are very high quality.

The weak spot in all early RCA's was that lousy metal CRT. :sigh: |
Posting has been deleted. Hopefully it found a good home and not dragged to the local dump....:scratch2:

I have a pretty nice 1947 8T-243 tabletop with a good 10BP4 if any RCA fans are interested. A few years ago I had audio and a crisp raster with the horizontal freq. way off. I had to jump in power supply electrolytics in order to keep from flaming rectifier tubes. I ended up restoring a 1950 ish TC-127 and lost interest in the 243. Guess I am an oddball because frankly I think 50s sets are much better looking and interesting than 40s jobs.
