One that got away (and one that didn't)
 

There's one at every swap meet. I was selling at today's Seattle swap, but before setting up I raced around to scout for any must-haves. This GE 810 tabletop looked tempting at $60.

Naturally, it was gone when I returned. The new owner kindly let me snap those photos of his TV.

I did get this Admiral 19A11 later on. Not quite as cheap, but I've never owned a 7" Admiral and this one ain't bad, even if it's missing the back cover.

If that GE 810 is like my GE 805, the bright side is you saved yourself from recapping grief:-)

That 7" set ... does it use the 7BP4 CRT?

You'll LOVE yr little Admiral-One just like it was what started me down the long, lonesome bumpy road of TV collecting..Mine was the FIRST TV in town...The guy who had the theater here bought it, he & his buds would take it up on the tallest hill in town. There they had power & an antenna rigged up, during the summer, they'd play with it, & if the Gods of TV were smiling on 'em, they'd pick up a faint signal from WAGA or WSB out of Atlanta...Heady stuff in 1948-49...

No. 7JP4. That's what MINE has, anyhow.

That Admiral uses the 7JP4 CRT. A swap meet is the best way to get those sets. The Bakelite cabinets don't survive shipping very well.

Nice find! Backs for the 19A11/12 seem to be especially scarce for some reason.

The GE 810 has a power transformer and is fairly easy to work on compared to the 805.

The 7BP4 seems to have been used only in sets made by ARVIN (this includes sets badged with ARVIN and HOSPIX). Is anyone aware of any other manufacturers using the 7BP4?

I believe you're thinking of the 8AP4. 7BP4 is also a magnetically deflected tube but I don't know of anything that used it.
