Operational HP 970a Voltmeter

1 Attachment(s)
Other than rebuilding the battery pack, and fabricating new battery connector springs to replace corroded/broken parts, very little was required to restore operation of this unique 1973 "pen style" DMM. Attached is a pix of the operating meter, charger, case, manual, long probe and light shield.

Next task will be an attempt to fabricate the unique "watchband" selector switch, which wraps around the body of the meter. It has a "pointer" which indicates the function (Kohms, Vac and Vdc) and a tab that engages the actual switch (on the left side of the meter).

Wow, that's really cool! I didn't know such a thing was possibly back in 1973.

Must of been very expensive back then.

This article states "at a relatively modest $275."
