Picked this up today

Picked up a 1950(probably newer) Pacific mercury TV today for the price of $0. Lady could not sell it and said I can have it. It's in pretty good shape. She even has the original manual but it's in her safe and get it to me some other time. It has a plug for a color adapter in the rear. Phono input(common). Don't know if the CRT is good yet. it's at my friends shop for display until i can get to it. Would anyone have a channel selector knob?

I know I saw one of those Bowtie knobs in my knob box the other day, don't know if it was channel or volume but I'll check it out.

How about this?

Looks like it could be the one. I'm amazed that you have one for an obscure brand. What do you want for it?
|
You can have it for postage, P.M. me with your address.

Definitely has the look of a 1952 model. Is it a 21" tube? The ink had probably just dried on the run of those fancy labels for the adapter when sequential color was killed in October of '51.

Sharp looking set-
Should clean up nicely! |
good save ,you know safe from tank people

Yes it looks like a 21". Have not had the time to remove the back yet and take a looksy. At least the CRT is not necked. Hopefully it's good. It would be cool to have one of those color adapters but I'm sure none are to be found for that particular set or any in general. I suppose one could be made.

CRT is a 21YP4B RCA Silverama. Little on the weak side. Could not resist powering it up. Does produce a raster so at least it will be OK after a recap.
Eric, I still want the knob but I don't think my messages are getting through. I tried several times. |
